12-13 Alkyl Lactate is made from vegetable fats; it acts as an emulsifier and is very stable.
Carbomer is made from the organic polymers and vegetable cellulose. In cosmetic formulations, it functions as a group of thickening agents.
Citric acid is an extract from citrus.
Cocamidopropyl betaine is made from coconut oil, considered to be a gentle skin-care surfactant.
Dimethicone is made from silica or sea sand.
Ethylhexylglycerine is a natural preservative. It is broad-spectrum and organic. Ethylhexylglycerine has natural abilities to kill bacteria. It is non-irritant and non-allergenic.
Glycerol monostearate is a plant oil and glycerine mix with a natural essential fatty acid, similar to omega 3 oils but from a vegetable source.
Glycerol Tricaprylate is made from fractionated palm kernel oil. In a cosmetic formulation it acts as an emollient and it has antioxidant properties.
Vegetable Glycerine helps preserve the water content of the skin, it helps maintain the extracellular-skin matrix and prevent dryness or scaling.
Lauramphocarboxyglycinate a mild cleansing agent derived from Lauric Acid or coconut fatty acids.
Palm Oil is obtained from controlled hydrogenation of Palm Kernel Oil.
Phenoxyethanol is a broad-spectrum organic preservative, which is non-irritant and non-allergenic.
Polysorbate 40 is derived from lauric acid from coconuts and from sorbitol which occurs naturally in many fruits.
Sodium Citrate has antioxidant and preservative properties. Citrate is found in citric fruits.
Stearic acid a fatty vegetable acid, found in coconut oil, is used as an emollient and as an agent to help keep other ingredients intact in a formulation.
Triethanolamine is made from coconut, used in cosmetics as a pH balancer; it has been reviewed to be safe for use in cosmetics subject to concentration and use limitations of 5%. Earthnlove Cosmetics use Triethanolamine in 0.5%.
